Simply, eh?
This skill sucks, and deserves to suck.
Mesmers were made for disruption, not damage.

Illusionary Weaponry. Elite Enchantment spell. 10e 1c 10r
For X seconds, target ally's attacks cannot be blocked and deal +Y damage.
o noez! iw goes from a fun gimmick snowflake skill to a potentially useful skill!
Can't think of numbers...

What would be better than buffing iweap itself would be if there were mesmer skills that synergized with it in any way (there aren't, not really.) It's not a WEAK skill per se, but the fact that it's sort of floating out there in space on its own makes it hard to utilize.

Well the skills that would work best with it would be adrenaline based, so if there was an adrenaline 'theft' type addition to it then it would be more mesmer like as well as some synergy with other war skills.
SO right now I would propose the changes:
Keep DMG approx the same
While in effect mesmer gains up to +12AR
Steals 1-2 strikes of adrenaline from target foe
Possibly change the skill to be a maintainable enchantment
Now maybe this is too big of a buff and it would be a war killer since your taking their adrenaline and the dmg is armor ignoring..

Only 2 classes have adrenaline skills. Warrior and Paragon. I see no reason whatsoever to change that.
If you want to use adrenaline skills, take a skill that gives you adrenaline like [skill]"To The Limit!"[/skill].
If it was changed to a maintained enchantment, with a small recharge, that could work (for me), but it would have to have an enegry regen cost.
And IW does not mean Anet wanted Mesmers to have melee abilities. There is such a thing as a secondary for a reason. A/Me can use IW well enough.
The only other POSSIBLE option I can think of to 'improve' this skill, without making it overpowered, it to give it an interrupt option. Base it on your attribute (So a primary Mesmer with runes get more benefit) and have a % to interrupt target. It would be a small - SMALL - percent chance though. 1-15% with 12% at 12 Illusion.
I still don't see a need to change the skill though.

I dunno, maybe if I suggested for faintheartedness to do 100 damage, slow enemy casting time by 300% and attack by 200%, people will think I'm a retard too. And I wouldn't blame them for being close-minded. I'd just think they're more sane. Have a good day away from Guru ^_^

It could use a buff a percent chance to deflect incoming attacks would be nice.
Alot of you say it sucks....... Yes it does if you go in expecting to go toe to toe with just an increased attack speeds. Personally I use IW all the time and have fun confusing Melee. I explain..
I run a sin shadow arts secondary. I can take advantage of the skills that stop working if you hit with an attack. Well You never hit with an attack with IW so I have an armor buff and health regen or a speed increase and 1/2 damage which i switch back and forth with. At the same time I am degenerating with nightmare and hitting with armor ingnoring damage. Many melee don't know what hit them

People have the right to disagree with you and have thier own opinions.
If you don't want people to argue on both sides of an issue, then don't post on a discussion forum.
Something tells me you don't interact well with others in RL.

That's the point.. An IW user will never have the raw DPS of the other classes, however what they could have is moderate increase in defense and a harrassment-type function. I just happen to think there is a lot of shouts and stances that would probably benefit an IWer if they had a way to generate some adrenaline.

I would love to see IW buffed.
as it stands now:
15-1-25
Elite Enchantment Spell. For 30 seconds, you deal no damage in melee, but whenever you attack in melee, target foe takes 8...34...40 damage.
my buff
attack speed increased by 25% and drop the cast time to 1/5
